As an added bonus, there is this comment: As someone who is HIGHLY SENSATIVE, ALLERGIC & ASTHMATIC to ALL dogs (even the supposed hypoallergenic) I am glad. Recently was in one of my regular stores, started having such a bad reaction, I had to walk out and could not go back in store. Things are so bad, that I can't even try clothes on, until they are washed or else I will break into a rash all over my body. When is someone going to stand up for people like this? I think animals should NOT be allowed in ANY food or clothing store, as well as restaurants. However, IF restaurants chose to allow people with pets/animals, have a reserved section for them, like smokers used to have. BUT IN NO CASE should any animal be allowed in a clothing or food store. I know people who have had such bad reactions, that they end up in a hospital. There is a balance that needs to be struck for people with severe allergic reactions, but this person clearly doesn't understand the importance of service dogs at all, referring to having policies about pets. Do you think the ADA in it's current state of saying that both the service dog handler and person with an allergy must be accommodated (and that excluding a service dog is not an acceptable accommodation) is enough? Is there more we can do to help these sorts of people and is there more we should do? My personal opinion is that cutting down on the faux service dogs will be a step in the right direction to making sure no one is exposed to dog hair unless the dog is completely necessary and service dog handlers should keep their dogs as well groomed as possible. There isn't much that can be done aside from that.
