Hello, my name is Amelia, and I hope this is the first thing you read as a new member of the Dog goes to College community. This forum is meant to be a friendly, safe place for people from a variety of backgrounds, including service dog handlers, trainers, raisers, business people, and people interested in service dogs can get together and talk about service dog issues.

Everyone here starts out as a pup. Once you've contributed to some discussions, you become potty trained. When that happens, a new category of forum boards will open up to you called "only with experience." In this board, you can petition to become a moderator of a board, if you are inclined to do so.
The process of petitioning to be a mod is the only way anyone (except those I know in the "real world" to be competent service dog people) can take that position, so please don't message me about it prematurely. You will also gain a reputation by contributing to the community, and it won't go unnoticed. Those who contribute to the level of good citizen, task master, and finally service dog will gain extra forum perks as they move up.
That's the basic chain of how you move up around here, but there is so much more to it than that. Being a supportive part of the community is a reward in itself, and I hope to see you helping or being helped soon!
