Merlin, my service dog, can:
Alert me to high blood sugars by poking me in the leg or shoulder and sitting
Alert me to low blood sugars by poking me in the leg or shoulder and laying down
Alert my family, boyfriend, and friends to changes in my blood sugar using the same alerts as above
Re-alert until I test my blood sugar
Re-alert until I eat (if low)
Fetch glucose tablets
Deep pressure therapy
Tactile stimulation to prevent/ disrupt overload
He is going to learn to:
Find my meter
Fetch my meter
Remind me to take medications (8:30 at night)
Push me to refrigerator during a low blood sugar
